Wight Trash Transitions Volume One: Skate Park Fundraiser

You might have heard the announcements at the IW Festival a couple of weeks ago. You may’ve seen the MySpace bulletins or you might even have a copy yourself already.

Transitions Volume One: Skate Park FundraiserBut if you haven’t, make sure that get your limited edition copy of the new Transitions Volume One CD.

Never before (as far as we know) has there been such a prolific collection of Isle of Wight talent on one CD and this one is an absolute corker. We’ve been playing it in the car as we tour around the Island and already have a few particular faves.

What hits you as you listen through the CD is the diversity of music. There are 22 tracks in total, all re-mastered by Paul Butler from The Bees, so let’s give him a slap on the back to start with. There are others to thank for making this CD possible but we’ll come to them later.

A very welcome surprise for us was Little Mary by The Waxworks. Now, we hadn’t heard of this Island band before, but being big fans of garage punk (well, one half of us anyway), this one was sure to be a winner.

As well as some surprises, you’ll find tracks from other more well known Island bands such as Jackson Analogue, Shanklin Freak Show, The Wight Light Orchestra, Louis Soteriou and The Chancers. There’s also a number of Bees-related bands, such as Pnu Riff, Blank Beats, Santa Spirita, Kris Birkini, Fatty Flx and Woz World.

The final track, Diamonds by Jet Harris (formerly of The Shadows) is a fantastic end of this brilliant CD.

If you check out the Wight Trash Web site, you can see a full track listing with details of who wrote and performed the individual tracks.

Through the power of PayPal you can buy the CD online by clicking on the ‘Add to Cart’ button below.

All proceeds from the CD will be going directly into the Skate Park Fund. There is still much to do to bring the skate park up to health and safety standards and every penny counts at this stage.

Physical Outlets
If you can’t buy online then Transitions Volume One is also on sale at Switch45 in Newport, The Ventnorian in Ventnor and Revolver in Ryde. More shops to follow soon.

Special Thanks
As well as the bands providing their tracks free of charge, a few of us have put money into the production of the CD in order to raise cash for the fund. Additional thanks go out to Wight Trash, The Bees, Ventnor Town Councillor Val Taylor and Island CD.

Please help us sell out the first 200 limited edition copies so we can raise enough cash to keep the skate park going. Buy copies for yourselves, friends, family and colleagues and make use of the button at the bottom.
