I would personally like to thank VB for always publishing our stories as we send them in. In the past we have had difficulties highlighting our work across the island and knowing how popular VB is I know that our awareness campaign with regard to the independent lifeboats will only get stronger!

I agree. Had a quick look through the VB search and most of the articles are about rescues and fund raising. How about an article for VB about what goes on behind the scenes. The day today running of a station, what is involved?Training requirements?Crews backgrounds? Why become a crew member and how?Maintance? I am sure alot goes on behind the scenes by people who play a vital role to the service, but are not in the public eye.
