Row For Life Raised £8,500 For African Children

Regular VB readers will remember hearing about the charity Row For Life event that took place at the weekend in St Thomas’ Square.

Weekend Rowathon Raised £8,500You might have even listened to the podcast interview with Nikki Collinson, the brainchild of the event.

Well the weekend went as planned, rowers from organisations around the Island took part rowing for charity over the 52 continuous hours and a whopping £8,500 was raised.

Nikki’s target however, was £10,000, so if you weren’t able to get down to Newport to show your support, please take a look at the Just Giving page.

Just £2.50 will buy a mosquito net that can cover 2-3 children at night, protecting them from lethal malaria as they sleep.
