Tourism Bookings Are Up Say Red Funnel

Ferry operator, Red Funnel say that bookings for holiday accommodation through their Website, Red Funnel Holidays, are on the increase.

Isle of Wight beachThey report a “huge surge” in interest for hotels, B&Bs and self-catering for Easter and May Bank Holidays, as well as the summer months.

When you see fabulous shots like this one from Ian of the IW Apple Users Group, it’s no surprise that visitor numbers are on the increase.

The news should bode well for the Island’s tourism businesses, as Red Funnel also report travel to the Island during January and February was up 2% on last year.

Jonathan Green, sales & marketing director commented, “We have so much to offer UK holidaymakers on the Island, with a fantastic range of accommodation to suit different budgets, a myriad of festivals and events and lots of activities for families, nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. Better still, it is a great feeling to step aboard the ferry and escape the hassles of the mainland for a proper holiday without the expense and hassle that always seem part and parcel of a foreign holiday.

“Bookings for 2011 are really encouraging and we are looking forward to a busy summer on the Island but we would recommend that visitors book early to get their preferred travel and accommodation dates.”
