Red Funnel say that from 24th September RJ4 will be going off for its annual refit.
This means that for approximately two weeks there’ll be no standby craft available and are asking passenger to plan journeys accordingly.

I thought so too. I guess what they’re suggesting is to build in delay time if travelling during those dates just in case, ie. don’t rely on everything running to plan in order to get to hospital appointments, train connections etc. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

But there are no standby craft on any of the other ferry crossings, so presumably everyone is used to doing that anyway :-)
