David Lewis to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for children’s charity

Best of luck to David Lewis who will attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro next year in aid of charity. Ed

On the 18th August 2013 I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money for the charity Childreach International. The climb and descent will take a total of six days where myself, and 19 other students from Oxford Brookes will trek the 5,895 m (or 19,341 ft) all the way up to the summit of the mountain.

I am a student at Oxford Brookes, originally from the Isle of Wight and last year I was teaching in Malawi and realised that every little we help out means so much to the more unfortunate in the world. Kilimanjaro is going to be a challenge but hopefully one that is going to help a lot of children in Tanzania.

Raising vital funds
We’re climbing for Childreach International, an international development children’s charity.

They do some fantastic work with unsung heroes in local communities and fund projects that make a real and sustainable difference.

To date, challenges like mine have transformed over 300,000 children’s lives!
