A fire on the ground floor of 5 St John’s Place, Newport led to the road being closed this afternoon as the Isle of Wight Fire service tackled the fire.

The building, opposite the IIT VI Form (Nodehill Middle as was), was attended by three pumps and Police.

Happily the stop notice came in at 14:40 and the Fire Service tell us that they had no reports of anyone being injured.
