New Year’s resolution to get active? Why not run the London Marathon!

Fancy brushing off those cobwebs and get into training for the London Marathon?

Trainers:

Thanks to Hannah for sharing with readers. Ed

If you want to work off those Christmas calories, why not kick start the New Year by signing up for the Virgin London Marathon in aid of Ventnor-based charity St Catherine’s.

St Catherine’s School in Ventnor supports young people from across the country with speech, language and communication needs. As a special school, St Catherine’s are a registered charity and do a range of fundraising activities each year to raise valuable funds to help purchase specialist equipment and support its vocational training unit.

A might challenge for a mighty cause
Hannah Davison of the St Catherine’s Fundraising team said, “There is no denying that the Virgin London Marathon is a mighty challenge, but St Catherine’s is a mighty cause. The young people here have a range of complex needs linked to communication; fundraising efforts ensure that every child gets the most out of their time at St Catherine’s in line with their individual needs.”

The London Marathon takes place on 21st April 2013 and is the largest annual fundraising event on the planet. Runners have raised over £500 million for various charities since the race began in 1981. If you would like to be a part of this amazing and legendary event, please contact Hannah Davison on 01983 852722 or hannah@stcatherines.org.uk.

It’s too late unless you want to die! Marathons require more than three months training.
