The council tell us that the Floating Bridge will be out of service for approx five days from 18 March for its annual inspection by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Southampton.
They say that vehicles will be diverted via Newport during this period (watch out for the diversions due to one-way restrictions).
As usual, a foot-passenger launch will be available during the suspension (also for cyclists).
More to follow when we receive it.

Aren’t the Council clever to arrange the Foating Bridge service to coincide with the one way traffic gyratory system round Newport!

Exactly you really could not make it up! I think even my five year old daughter would think that this might be a slightly stupid thing to do while you have all these road works going on, did they not think that some people might want to use this to be avoid the traffic problems in Newport?

Further evidence that we have the most incompetent IOW council ever.
No-one is home, they’ve all gone, either resigned or out canvassing for the May election?
