WightFibre this week announced the completion of a cross-Solent network upgrade and the rollout of a complimentary speed upgrade to WightFibre customers.

In a multi-year contract, WightFibre has doubled its cross-Solent network capacity and made provision for a further ten times increase over the next few years. In addition, WightFibre has tripled customer broadband speed giving customers previously on 10Mb broadband connections an increase to a massive 30Mb with no increase in price.

Top speed now 120Mb
WightFibre has also increased its top to speed to 120Mb, more than 50% faster than the fastest speed offered by BT and TalkTalk and four times faster than Sky.

WightFibre’s 30Mb and 50Mb customers have also been given a free upgrade to 70Mb and 100Mb customers a free upgrade to 120Mb.

Customers received their speed upgrades in March.

Committed to providing the best possible service
John Irvine, CEO of WightFibre says,

“WightFibre is committed to providing the Island with the best possible broadband, TV and phone service. These new faster speeds mean our customers have some of the best broadband to be found anywhere in the UK and at incredibly good value for money.”

John Irvine continues,

“Only WightFibre has island based customer service allowing us to provide a truly local service second to none.”

More speed increases are in the pipeline including a major upgrade to WightFibre’s wireless network which will provide superfast speeds throughout the Island.
