Poetry shack:

Want to know how your poetry can come to life?

Charlotte Begg from new Isle of Wight arts site, Little Wordle, shares news of a poetry competition OnTheWight readers may be interested in. Ed

The theme of Little Wordle’s first poetry competition is ‘Fantasea’- all things weird and wonderful that lies beneath the seven seas!

They would love to see mermaids, dancing fish, giant octopuses and anything else your imagination can think of written down!

Your poem, illustrated
The best bit is the prize we have on offer for you – the winning poem will receive a personalised illustration designed by Claire at Splot Designs. Claire’s illustrations are quirky and fun-just what we need to make your poetry come to life!

Little Wordle will run a feature and interview with the winner, and the runners up will receive a box of four cupcakes from Rather Darling Cupcakes!

Further exposure
All four winning poems will be featured on our new leaflets that are to be distributed across the Island and at many events, including the Isle of Arts Festival in May.

The winners will consist of two age groups, under 16- with two winners, and over 16 with two winners.

Find out how to enter
Pop over to the Little Wordle Website to find out more about how to enter the competition. As well as through the form on the Website, you can hand your entries into Babushka Books in Shanklin.
