Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue were called to a cell fire at HMP Isle of Wight prison (Parkhurst) this morning.
The call was received at 05.08am. They sent two pumps from Newport fire station to deal with the ‘deliberate’ cell fire. One hose reel was used and two sets of breathing equipment.
The stop notice was received at 05.27am.
There were no injuries reported.
