Police release CCTV images of attempted theft

Police have issued CCTV images of a man attempting to take a laptop from Co-op in Anglesea Street, Ryde on the afternoon of 1st April 2014.

The CCTV footage shows a white male, aged between 25-35 years old walk into the store, making straight to the electrical items. He apparently forced the lock on the cabinet, reached into the cabinet and removed a laptop making off towards the exit.

According to the police, after he realised he was being watched he dumped the laptop in the store and made off towards George Street.

They say the same man also attempted to steal small digital cameras the day before.

He’s described as 5ft10″-6ft
Medium build
Wearing a red long sleeved hooded top, black rimmed spectacles, jeans and trainers
