Over 35,000 Islanders vote in the Euro Election

Despite the wind, rain, thunder and lightning yesterday (Thursday), 35,600 residents from the Isle of Wight voted in the European Election.

According to information received from the Isle of Wight council today, the Island has 111,879 members of the public on the electorate, giving a percentage of turnout of 31.82%.

The final county takes place in Southampton on Sunday. We’ll let you know once the results for the ten Member of the European parliament seats are announced.
