Earlier this month, an Isle of Wight business was invited to an awards ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
Liz Jones from Splash – which sells jewellery and greetings cards on Union Street in Ryde – tells OnTheWight her business was nominated for a RETAS award (the only awards that celebrate greeting cards retailing in the UK).
Not only that, but Splash was also shortlisted in the finals for Best Independent Card Retailer in The South West.
Liz said,
“We stock a varied range of cards and people travel from all over the Island just to get cards from us.
“We were invited to attend the awards event at the Dorchester in London on the 9th July and we had a fantastic time and were very spoilt.
“We were up against five other companies in the South West. Although we didn’t win I felt very proud and honoured to be there as I think it was the first time for the Island to be recognised.”
