Annual beer, music, poetry and cider festival in aid of Motor Neurone Disease Association

The popularity of the Ice Bucket Challenge – which is intended to raise money for research into Motor Neurone Disease – has been incredible. If you use social media, it will have been hard to ignore the mass of videos filling up newsfeeds and timelines showing people emptying buckets of ice water on their heads to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease charities.

A holiday centre in East Cowes will be doing their bit next month when the fourth annual beer, music, poetry and cider festival takes place at Waverley Park on 12-14th September.

Organiser Julian Adams told OnTheWight,

“As well as all the fun of the day there is a more serious side to the event. I have recently become involved in raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, as such 10p from every pint of beer or cider sold at the event will be donated to MNDA.

“Hopefully this will help with this horrible and terminal condition.”

There will be a full line up of bands from 7pm on Friday and 3pm Saturday and Sunday with the bar opening from 6pm on Friday and 1pm Saturday and Sunday.

Julian says they have many local legends playing as well as some new faces and even an all girl punk trio from London.
