Eye of the wight - way forward exhibition:

All eyes on new exhibition by Island charity

Thanks to Krissy for details of this upcoming exhibition. Ed

The Eye of Wight and Living Circles are the two themes explored in this latest gallery show by artists on the Way Forward Programme. The first is a set of pictures taken around the Island using a fish eye camera lens, while the second captures circles on living things such as butterflies, moths and flowers.

Lee White, Programme Lead explained,

“Our photography group have had a great time going out and about, capturing images from around the Island.

“This is the third exhibition Dimbola have hosted for us, demonstrating the quality of work that our artists can produce. It’s fantastic we have been able to develop a partnership with Dimbola and to be provided with the opportunity to showcase the work to a wider audience.”

All the work will be for sale, with only 3 copies of each picture being produced. The proceeds will be split between each photographer and Way Forward, to enable the project to continue running. In the last 18 months the charity have sold 38 original pieces and prints by those taking part in the art sessions run at Downside Community Centre in Newport.

The exhibition runs from 20th September to 5th January with an open preview evening on Friday 19th September between 6pm and 8pm.
