Cassandra Gardiner: Crossing mind’s ocean

Inside, flowing in and out, tidal waters lap the shores of thought. Appearing desolate and barren, but do not be deceived, moving-on, flourishing seeds of change, secret chains, wells of decisions and shrouded in mist moments of lightning cracks. Further down, subversion distorts and changes particles of knowledge, minute detail and whims.

In this hidden yet glorious land there is subtleness teamed with strength, truth living with mercy and light-heartedness along with fears. For some it may be a jungle, others a closet, though most should know its wonder, curiosity and delight, except when days are dark. Breezing through unmapped territory, in creation and bold, humming a tune, memories glisten – that song, where’s it from; scent of woman, the pleasure of re-kindling distant moments, charming the wanderer who pilots these shores.

Not all will be cast with such sanctuary, some terrains can be harsh and cruel, and one hopes the climber reaches the summit. From the top, down, what passes, vanishing doubt as the clouds clear.

Buried within, the treasures of mirth and stories of old, how time changes. As the future becomes the present and our sails fill with wind, life moves in gusts and gullies.

What does this inner landscape hold and show – classifications of beauty, honesty, purpose and courage, layered streams of love, mystery, passions and dreams. The dark quarters, where the air is murky, the ground swamps, drawing in, suffocating, smothering. Sadness beguiles, hope is eternal.

Crossing the mind’s ocean, a journey of time. Chartered in gene maps, learning by experience, destination into areas less known, perhaps navigable with research, sharing knowledge, determination and instinct. It’s possible to get lost.

With the tail-winds high we sail, blue horizons, sunsets of red streaked with gold setting down into the emerald depths. Another rising, awakening to the moon, glittering stars, crossing the heavens in search of redemption as the silver fish fly.

In these tales of deep, wonders unfold, monsters and demons fight along the way, yet air crusades continue as we journey the world of an internal sky.
