Islander Kara Rann in critical condition following motorcycle race crash

Messages of goodwill and best wishes have been pouring in via social media for Islander Kara Rann, who is in intensive care in a critical, but stable condition today.

Kara, who was passionate about motorcyle racing, was involved in a crash while racing at Pembrey Racing Circuit in Wales on Sunday.

Tragically, Kara has sustained serious head injuries. A full prognosis of her condition should be known tomorrow.

Team member Phil Johns told OnTheWight this evening,

“Thank you for your support for Kara and Marc, plus Brogan. I’m sure it will be a comfort to know how the Island is pulling together for them.

“As a team it also means a lot to us. We are all very close and have achieved so much, so as you can imagine this is heart breaking.”

Phil went on to say,

“We just need positive thoughts and love flowing in now to help her fight it, they will need support and comfort in the weeks to come and if I know Island communities, they rally round.”

Our thoughts are with Kara and her family and friends.
