The Solent Half was a week earlier than usual, which may explain the unusually low turnout for this excellent race that undulates through quiet country lanes on the edge of the New Forest.
Island team representation came from Ryde Harriers men with captain Pete Still the first Island athlete home in a new personal best of 1:37:37. Also setting a new personal best was Brian Warren in 1:49:45 with John Randles completing the Harriers trio finishing in 2:12:18.
The club will be celebrating their runners’ success of the last year at their annual awards evening on 18th October with tickets available now from club night meets on a Tuesday evening at Ryde Rowing Club.
