This morning the world’s largest cruise liner, Oasis of the Seas, arrived in Southampton.

This baby’s big – really big. It’s longer that the London’s Shard is tall and offers its passengers a choice of 17 decks, seven neighbourhoods(!) on-board, 37 bars and has 10,000 sq ft of shopping space, among other staggering statistics.

It passed by Ryde and Cowes before 9am, but due to arrival of heavy fog, it wasn’t viewable from the Island.

Fog cleared near Southampton
Happily Dave Monk was out on the water with his camera recording the arrival of the Oasis of the Seas as the fog lifted and it approached Southampton.

One of the shots that he captured was the Oasis next to a Red Funnel ferry, giving a clear understanding to Islanders quite how massive the cruise liner actually it is.
