Floating Bridge protesters leaving Bridge by Allan Marsh

If you’re against pedestrian fares on the floating bridge you can march with others this Saturday

Thanks to Marcie for this reminder of the upcoming march taking place on Saturday. Ed

A group of concerned residents are holding another protest against the IW Council’s proposed pedestrian charges on the floating bridge at Cowes.

This protest will be a march from Cowes to East Cowes, starting at 3pm this Saturday, 18th October, outside the Co-op in Cowes.

We are calling this our ‘halloween walk’ to demonstrate how many residents walk and use the bridge multiple times a day for work, education, and business.

Pedestrian charges will be a real financial burden for these families and will not raise the money the IW Council says it will.

Of course costumes are optional, but in the spirit of halloween and our refusal to be “tricked” by the IW Council’s incorrect floating bridge figures, we are encouraging people to come out, rain or shine, in costume to make some noise and be heard as we walk up Cowes High Street, down to the Floating Bridge, and down Castle Street in East Cowes to the square outside Waitrose!
