Close up of telephone pad:

Another scam rears its ugly head

This in from the council, in their own words. Ed

Our Trading Standards service is aware of a scam where businesses on the Island are receiving phone calls from someone claiming to be calling on behalf of the police, the fire and rescue service and the ambulance service.

The caller says they are producing a booklet for schools and asks for £200 to place an advert. They say the funds will be used to support children with difficulties.

This is a scam and the council, the fire service, the ambulance service and the police are not involved in this.

If you are called, do not give out any personal details or bank details.
