The Big Draw is the world’s biggest drawing festival and Islanders are invited to take part in this year’s event on Saturday 25th October from 10am-1pm at Quay Arts.

It’s Our World
This year’s Big Draw theme: It’s Our World, is a celebration of our environment – urban, rural and coastal landscapes.

Island artist, Hannah George, will be facilitating the project in The Learning Curve Gallery.

The Learning Curve Gallery will be transformed into a magnificent drawing room; Islanders are invited to draw their favourite Island scenes on a large blank outline of the Isle of Wight, which will be painted on the wall. A range of drawing materials will be available to use.

Hannah said,

“Taking part in this national event will enable Islanders to rediscover the simple joys of drawing. It will be a fun and relaxed session so come along and take part.”

On display until 31st October
The finished Island map created by Islanders will be on display in The Learning Curve Gallery until Friday 31st October.

Entry to the galleries is free and everyone is welcome.

This event is currently free thanks to funding from the Daisie Rich Trust however to help the Quay Arts continue to keep running these type of events, charity donations towards running costs are very welcomed.
