PFI contract manager leaves the council earlier than expected (updated)

The council’s PFI contract manager, Tony Toynton, has left the council today (Wednesday).

He joined the council in March – on an interim basis – and was contracted to work on the PFI project until the end of the year.

OnTheWight understand he left today ‘by mutual agreement’.

He was brought in to replace former PFI manager Marc Griffin, who left just one year into the 25 year PFI scheme.

Update Friday 14.11.2014 9.34am
Bill Murphy, head of planning and regulatory services, said:

“Tony Toynton, who has led the PFI contract management team on an interim basis following the departure of the previous manager has left the post by mutual agreement following the council’s decision to recruit a permanent team leader and further engineering support to the team.

“Tony was brought in at short notice after the previous contract manager left his post and has done a great job in helping us through a difficult period and I would like to thank him for all his work and wish him well for the future.”
