Melanie Vass from Bournemouth Echo has been following the hearing of the plan to build a wind farm off the west coast of the Isle of Wight.
During the hearing, she reports that Bournemouth council have claimed ‘Plan B’ – the scaled down version of Navitus Bay Wind Farm – is ‘unlawful’.
The new plan would see almost half the original number of turbines slightly further out to sea.
Bournemouth council believe the amendments to the plans are a material change and should be subject to a “separate consultation and examination process”.
