Ed Boxall’s ‘Under The Ivy Night Rambles’ opens this weekend

This in from Ceri at Quay Arts, in her own words. Ed

Ed Boxall is an artist and storyteller based in Hastings. In Ed’s work, images of family life mix with magic and myth. His series of large prints ‘Under The Ivy Night Rambles’ are inspired by holidays in the British countryside.

“There’s a warmth and nostalgia to many of the settings. Beyond this charm I always aim for a deep romantic sense of enchantment.” Ed Boxall.

This series of large, hand coloured lino prints explore quiet moments of solitude experienced alone in wild natural places. In these images, solitude is filled with potential for travel; for night rambles away from all the stuff of modern life, bordering between the real and the magical.

In addition to the preview and meet the artist, Ed Boxall is hosting a free children’s storytelling event in which Ed will perform a selection of his magical children’s stories using his unique giant silhouette pop-up books and ‘magic lantern’ style projections.
