Travel disruption updates as high winds hits the Island

Stay up to date with cross-Solent travel this morning during the high winds.

Windy weather

The predicted high winds have been battering the Island since late last night (Thursday).

This morning the weather has affected cross-Solent travel.

Red Funnel
Our (Red Jet) Hi-Speed Service will resume at 0715 from Southampton and 0745 from Cowes.

Red Jet suspended.

Vehicle ferry service will resume at 0545 from Soton and 0715 from E Cowes.

Running to winter timetable, however due to high winds on the Solent there may be some disruption to the service.

Fishbourne-Portsmouth ferry running

Yarmouth-Lymington ferry running.

Ryde-Portsmouth Catamaran running.

On the roads
The wind has blown a few things onto the roads overnight, so advice is to drive with caution this morning.

Update 9.04
Harbour’s Lake Lane is now open.

The fire service are attending this one, it’s actually in Harbour’s Lake Lane and is a wooden stable that has blown over and is overhanging the road.
