Dianne Thompson - The George

Second New Year Honour for new owner of The George

Isle of Wight resident, Dianne Thompson, has been awarded a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire after being named in the New Year Honours list.

It’s ‘For services to the National Lottery and charitable services’.

Owner of The George
Earlier this year, Dianne hit the Isle of Wight headlines when she was revealed as the new owner of The George Hotel in Yarmouth.

The former Group Chief Executive of Camelot, Dianne Thompson CBE, said at the time of the take-over that she’d been an Isle of Wight local resident since 2010, but the New Year Honours list specifies her location as Buckinghamshire.

Teaming up with former Michelin-starred chef, Robert Thompson, Dianne said in March she’s “very passionate about the Island and all it has to offer”.

Congratulations Dianne!

Eve Richardson
Congratulations are also due to Ms Eve Richardson, who was formerly the Chief Executive of the National Council for Palliative Care. She gains an OBE for services to End of Life Care.

Eve lives in St Lawrence on the Isle of Wight.
