Have you tried the new outdoor fitness gym at Seaclose yet?

This in from Maxine on behalf of Newport Parish Council, Ed

Four new pieces of exercise equipment are now available in Seaclose Park following a request to Cllr Mary Craven from older members of the community.

Mary Craven:Cllr Craven took the idea to the Parish Council and with the help from a grant from the Big Lottery Fund the project took shape.

Cllr Craven said,

“Outdoor fitness gyms are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. You don’t need any experience to use them and they are a cheap option for keeping fit as there are no membership fees to pay. If these pieces of equipment are popular there is the room to expand and incorporate more.”

The equipment has instructions for use imprinted on the each one, so even the most inexperienced person can make use of them. In addition the pieces have all been placed to face the children’s area so busy parents and grandparents can exercise while keeping an eye on their children.

Newport Parish Council would like to thank both the IW Council for allowing the land to be used for the project and the Big Lottery Awards for All for supporting the project and providing a grant.
