‘Reasonable progress’ to exit Special Measures continues at primary school

Newport Primary school has been considered by Ofsted inspectors to be making reasonable progress towards the removal of special measures.

The primary school was placed in Special Measures after an inspection April 2013. The latest visit was the fifth monitoring inspection since then.

In a letter to the head, the inspector states,

Having considered all the evidence I am of the opinion that at this time:

The school is making reasonable progress towards the removal of special measures.

The school may not appoint newly qualified teachers before the next monitoring
inspection
