Isle of Wight tourism business recognised at myisleofwight Awards

The top three nominees from each of the 26 categories were invited to find out who had won the top places in the awards. The evening was compered by Visit Isle of Wight CEO David Thornton, with each winning business being presented with their handmade Glory Art Glass Award by Red Funnel’s CEO Kevin George.

Only IW awards voted by visitors
The Red Funnel myisleofwight Awards are the Island tourism industry’s only awards voted for by visitors, with a record 33,832 votes cast.

Kevin George, CEO for Red Funnel said:

“The Red Funnel myisleofwight Awards are unique in recognising the very best tourism businesses on the Island, as voted for by the people who really matter. It’s a great way to reward those in the industry who provide visitors with a stand-out holiday experience and I would personally like to congratulate the winners.”

Double win for Vintage Vacations
Double winner, taking home awards in two categories was Vintage Vacations for the second year running for Cosiest Cottage Hideaway, as well as this year taking the award for Best Place to Go Glamping, and The Little Gloster, which also proved a firm favourite by winning both the Best Eaterie with a Seview and Best Epicurean Spot to Blow the Budget.

Newcomer, The Union Inn, swooped in to scoop both Most Comfy Bed & Hearty Breakfast and Best Homemade Burger.

Other new winners this year were Compton Farm for Best Rustic Camping Experience and Arreton Barns for Best Place to Get Crafty.
