Andrew Turner’s plea for volunteers to ‘Drive him around between appointments’

Isle of Wight Conservative MP, Andrew Turner, or more likely someone in his office has just hit the button on a mass emailing.

Although the email (below) says “I have plenty of long-term supporters”, it comes across as quite the opposite, given that he’s asking for people to drive him around between his appointments.

Many roles needed
The other roles they’re looking to fulfill appear to be just about everything that a campaign team might do – Delivering literature; Telephone canvassing and Doorstep canvassing.

This seeming-desperation would match with whispers that have reached OnTheWight’s ears that there’s hardly anyone willing to volunteer time into Andrew’s re-election campaign.

Certainly his press office is in utter shambles. OnTheWight is still waiting on multiple outstanding enquiries, some dating back as far as mid-February.

Spam?
You too may well get one of these emails, as they appear to be sent out on a random basis. We’ve received four to different email addresses in quick succession. These email accounts weren’t signups requesting to hear more from him, but questions that we’d asked his office over the years as constituents or media. Some would call sending emails without consent ‘Spam’.

You might also notice the rank-amateur status of the sender of the mail, given that it starts “Use this area to offer a short preview of your email’s content.” Hmmm.
