Cowes Yacht Haven and the Cowes Town Waterfront Trust sponsored Jon and the charity ride.

60 miles in four hours
It took Jon and the other cyclists just over four hours to complete the epic 60 mile course through the stunning Jurassic Coast and beautiful Dorset countryside.

The ride was split into three distances: 30 miles, 50 miles and the 60 mile route that Jon challenged himself to.

The cyclists supported and raised awareness for Wayne Ingram’s campaign for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

Next challenge
In May, Wayne is spending seven days and nights in a life raft floating in the Dean & Reddyhoff Portland Marina, using only the survival rations normally found in the life raft’s pack.

This amounts to three ration pack meals and one litre of water, meaning that Wayne will have to catch fish using a basic survival fishing kit and make drinking water using a solar still and a manual osmosis pump.

Sincere thanks
Wayne said,

“My sincere thanks to Cowes Yacht Haven, Cowes Town Waterfront Trust and Jon for this extremely generous donation towards my target.

“Without the kindness and generosity from people such as yourselves I would find this amount extremely difficult to reach, and Great Ormond Street Hospital wouldn’t receive the valuable funds need to keep providing the amazing work they do.”

Donate what you can
Jon said,

“The ride was tough but nothing compared to what Wayne is putting himself through in the next month and the children in Great Ormond Street experience. Do support us by donating what you can.”

Jon is urging people to donate at least £1 to the cause by texting ‘LCXD63 £1’ to 70070 or by visiting Wayne’s Just Giving page.

So far The Big Green Dean & Reddyhoff Portland Marina Cycle has raised £650 for the charity with many more donations expected to follow.
