Vectis Isle Pioneers head to Totland for first round of 2015

Thanks to Wayne for this latest motorcycle report from the Vectis Isle Pioneers Motorcycle Club. Ed

The Club would like to say a special thank you to the Morgan family for allowing us to trial on their land. The course consisted of four laps of eight sections.

Howard Jacobs was the course setter who managed, once again, to set a good mix of free flowing but tricky and technical sections – Thanks Howard, good effort.

Youth E Class
The Youth E Class produced the tightest finish with youngsters Alfie Haydon and Harrison Crickmore finishing on the same score. It was Alfie that took the win after travelling the furthest with the least marks lost. Excellent riding by both.

Relative newcomer Luke Snow put in a solid performance to finish in third place, this being only his second ever trial!

Brendon Penn (Youth Easy Class) and Jos Wright (Youth Expert Class) both riding unopposed in their respective classes, never the less rode really well to earn their ten Championship points.

Youth Over 80 Class
Things were also really close in the Youth Over 80 Class, Oliver Moore doing just enough to finish ahead of Kerry Jacobs, section seven proving to be the decider here. Kyle Jacobs (Under 80 Class) handled the course well, with a determined effort to take the win and kick start his 2015 season with maximum points.

Nick Symes started his 2015 Championship bid as he ended the last – a fine performance once again Nick. Wayne Brodie (Novice Class) also started the new season well finishing ahead of Phil Sylvester.

Phil has overcome the reliability issues with his bike to take a well-deserved second place. Phil however lost more than just a few marks after being sent over the handlebars on section seven – he picked himself up to find a gaping hole in his trousers – oops!

The Expert Class was another close fought contest this time with the ever improving Mark Gray taking the win from Andy Scott Jackson, section 8 made all the difference here. Stuart Gummer finished in third place.

Next fixture
The second round of the 2015 season will be held on Sunday May 10th 2015.

The venue is still to be confirmed. More details can be found on our website.
