Thanks to Joel for sharing details of this upcoming charity football match. Ed

The Paul Westby Memorial Charity Football Match is for everyone to celebrate the life of Paul Westby, a lad from Gurnard, who passed away in 1990, aged eight, and also to raise money for KissyPuppy – The Sophie Rolf Trust.

Paul was a student of Gurnard Primary School and played football both for the school and Gurnard Youth FC.

A group of Paul’s friends are organising the football match on Saturday 16th May at Westwood Park, the home of Cowes Sports. Kickoff is 4pm.

The teams
The teams are Gurnard Youth 1990 (containing members of Paul’s former team) and Gurnard Legends XI (a team made up of various ex Gurnard Players and other friends).

There will be a small charge of £2 to enter Westwood Park on the day in aid of the charity.

BBQ, Auction and more
After the game there will be a BBQ, auction and charity raffle with lots of prizes.

The evening climaxes with music from ‘The Fishy Fellas’ – a duo from local band – ‘Jimmy’s Big Fish’.
