Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was injured in a collision with a mobility scooter in Ryde.

The 45-year-old man, who is blind, was walking along the pavement towards the bus stop by All Saints Church on Queens Road when the collision happened around 9.20am, on Friday, 24th April.

The scooter carried on along the pavement.

Admitted to hospital with complications
The man suffered cuts to his leg and later had to be admitted to hospital with complications.

Afterwards he reported the incident to the police who are now investigating.

PC Phil Mears said:

“The man suffered an injury to his leg which later became more serious and required an extended stay in hospital for treatment.

“I appreciate this incident happened a month ago, but I hope someone will recognise the circumstances.

“The man is not able to provide us with a further description of the scooter or driver, however he believes there were one or two people at the bus stop at the time including a woman who helped him back home.

“I would like to hear from them or anyone else who witnessed the incident or recognises those involved.”
