Sixties star Twinkle passes away on the Isle of Wight

Those of a certain age may remember the 1960s singer, Twinkle.

Lynn Ripley rose to fame in 1964 when her hit song, Terry, reached number four in the charts. The teenage tragedy song about a boyfriend losing his life in a motorcycle accident was banned by the BBC due to ‘bad taste’.

We were sad to read that Lynn, who lived in Godshill, passed away last week (21st May) after battling cancer for the last five years.

Our thoughts are with Lynn’s family and friends.
