Old Gaffers 2012:

Yamouth is all set for Old Gaffers. Are you?

It’s that time of year again when we (and visitors to the Island) all flock to Yarmouth for the Annual OldOld Gaffers Festival.

The grand opening of the Festival takes place on Friday (29th May) at noon, when it’ll be opened by none other than the Pink Panther!

This is the 19th year for the Festival, who is this year supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign for Research and Awareness – hence the Pink Panther (and as you’ll see when you arrive in Yarmouth) the town turning pink.

There will be three days of entertainment onshore as well as your chance to see the beautiful Gaffers racing in the Solent on Saturday.

The whole of Yarmouth will be full of music, stalls and family fun.

Pink Island Friday
As well as the day time entertainment, there’ll be evening events to enjoy

Friday night hosts Pink Island Friday which kicks off from 6.30pm. Get ready for a spectacular evening with Caribbean Melody Steel Band, Derek Sandy, Wight Hot Pipes and The Accelerators.

Time to dig out your pink fancy dress items for a chance to win a prize for The Best Pink Costume!

Saturday night fever
On Saturday night the action kicks off from 6.45 pm and features The Showdogs, Star Tribute – sounds of the 60s and 70s and Saturday Night Bee Gees.

Tickets for each evening are £10 each.

Tickets can be bought from Royal Solent Yacht Club, Wightlink booking office, Southern Vectis Bus station kiosk and the Festival information desk at the town hall.
