Roadworks lights:

Havenstreet main road due for resurfacing next week

This in from Gavin on behalf of Island Roads. Ed

Island Roads is to resurface a 1.7 kilometre stretch between the IW Steam Railway and Stroudwood Road in a ten-day programme between June 29 and July 10. In order to minimise disruption to road users, the work will be undertaken overnight between 18.30pm and 6.30am and will be open outside of these times.

The project will mean a two-kilometre section of the main road through the village will have been improved under the PFIas part of this year’s intense surfacing program on main roads.

During the work, traffic will be diverted via Briddlesford Road – Station Road, Wootton – High Street, Wootton – Elenors Grove – Quarr Hill – Newnham Road, Binstead.

Island Roads construction manager Keith Gourlay said:

“This is a further example of us working overnight on a busy stretch of road in order to minimise disruption to road users.

“We hope that any short term inconvenience during the scheme will be outweighed by the benefits of seeing the road improved.”
