The poems and illustrations were written by young people on the Isle of Wight, aged eight to fifteen, ahead of the conference which was held at The Riverside Centre in October 2014.

The authors were asked to write or draw what they feel are the true impacts of bullying and bring this agenda to life.

The e-book is now online and can be downloaded via www.smashwords.com and is free.

A powerful anthology
Councillor Jonathan Bacon, Executive Member for Children’s Services, said:

“This e-book is a powerful anthology written by young people for young people.

“The poems and illustrations show the true effects of bullying, highlighting the importance of working together to tackle bullying.”

An anti-bullying conference for young people is being organised for this year on the theme ‘enjoy the journey’. It emphasises the importance of safety and anti-bullying on the journey to and from school. A poster competition is running alongside this with winning entries to be displayed on school buses.
