Thanks to Ra for this latest news from Ryde School. Ed

Ryde School is delighted that its students have secured some very good results at GCSE this year: 91% of pupils achieved 5 or more A* to C grades, with 43% of entries awarded A*/A. 89% of all entries were awarded a C grade or above with around two thirds satisfying the requirements for the EBacc.

Seven Ryde School pupils achieved seven or more grades at A*:

Sam Fitzpatrick from Ryde, Elizabeth Gillett of Totland Bay, Maddie Hewitt from London, David McGregor, Jessica Norton, Hannah Otty, all from Cowes and Hannah Perkins of Binstead.

Around one quarter of Ryde School pupils achieved an average score of 10 A grades or better.

In addition to those mentioned above they were:

Annabel Caddick, Toby Challis, Lucy Daniels, Nicole Hansford, Peter Hepburn, Tarun Howles, Annabel Hutchings, Sarah Jamieson, James Moody, Megan Nicholson, Thomas Ockendon, Amber Prust, Antonia Thwaites, Emily Whitewick and Bella Wright.

Head Master, Mark Waldron, commented,

“We had a large number of pupils taking GCSEs this year so it is particular good to be able to celebrate another set of excellent results.

“The results as a whole are very good, but don’t fully show the individual triumphs behind the statistics and I am sure many of our pupils will be justifiably very happy today.”
