Global Yacht Racing is delighted to announce its recently formed partnership with the south coast based training provider, HTP Training, the new sponsor of their Beneteau 47.7.

HTP Training provides apprenticeships and training for young people, and share with Global Yacht Racing the belief that everyone, regardless of their background or qualifications should have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge.

Apprenticeship opportunities for Islanders
In addition to employing skippers from their own Race Skipper Traineeship programme Global Yacht Racing is now working alongside HTP Training to provide Apprenticeship opportunities for young people and has recently taken on a Business Administration apprentice to support its current expansion programme.

Global Yacht Racing director Claire Kennard says

“Sponsoring sailing is a fantastic move for a business that wants to align their values with a sport that requires teamwork and commitment to training and practice in order to succeed. The ethos of both businesses is to provide opportunities for young people and so the partnership is a great match with lots of potential to build on in the future.”

HTP Training was established in 2000 by the current Managing Director, Rachael Fidler who says,

“We are passionate about helping individuals and employers to access training to enable them to succeed. We are thrilled to link with an organisation which is committed to providing opportunities for individuals to gain the skills and knowledge they need to enter and progress in their chosen career.”
