Police investigation into fire at Island Learning Centre continues

Officers investigating a suspected arson at The Island Learning Centre, at Berry Hill, Lake, near Sandown on the Isle of Wight on July 17 have today released a photo, which shows the extensive damage to the building.

Police were called to the scene at around 12.25am on July 17 after a school minibus caught fire, which spread to the school, causing extensive damage to the whole building.

A 16-year-old boy from the Isle of Wight was arrested on Friday, July 17, on suspicion of arson and was bailed until October 16, 2015 pending further enquiries.

Detectives would still like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the fire, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area, between 11.30pm on Thursday, July 16 and 12.15am on Friday, July 17.
