Cash up for grabs for ‘innovative and exciting’ sustainable transport projects

Thanks to Zoe from Visit Isle of Wight for details of this grant opportunity. Ed

Projects which promote sustainable transport are set for a boost from a new £47,000 grant fund.

Visit Isle of Wight is seeking innovative expressions of interest from tourism businesses to deliver projects which encourage visitors to embrace sustainable transport.

Projects to be delivered next year
The grant fund is one a series of projects being delivered through funding from the Isle of Wight Council’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund initiative during 15/16, which aims to reduce the impact of private cars by encouraging the use of sustainable transport.

Working in partnership with Community Action Isle of Wight, grants will be available for projects that can be delivered by early 2016.

Apply by 7th October
Projects should be described in no more than 500 words initially, setting out the scope of the project, what it will achieve and how much funding is required. The deadline for submission of expressions of interest is 7 October 2015.

Zoe Stroud, LSTF Project Manager at Visit Isle of Wight said

“We are looking for innovative and exciting ideas that will encourage visitors to travel sustainably. The fund is a unique opportunity for local tourism businesses to inspire a new generation of sustainable travellers!”
