Beyond the Rope: Don’t miss this fascinating exhibition by Quay Crafts

Lovers of art and lovers of history are in for a treat with the latest exhibition by Quay Crafts.

The contemporary craft group – which has been in existence for over 30 years – have just opened a new exhibition at Osborne House.

This exhibition is not hidden away in a room of its own. The 15 different pieces of work, by ten artists, mingle, dance, stand boldly or sit comfortably amongst the treasures of Queen Victoria.

Fascinating history
The artists were asked to respond to the house and grounds and boy, have they delivered.

Beyond the Rope – we love the title – evokes the great history of the house and convalescent home and conveys a fantastic sense of place.

Worth the visit
We urge you to explore this exhibition and whilst you’re there, make sure you check out the Swiss Cottage Museum, the artefacts there are out of this world.

Zoe Barker’s study of the convalescent home is superb and worth spending time reading over when you’re there.

Thanks to the artists for sharing some of the shots of their work in situ at Osborne. As fantastic as they look here, they’re even better in person.
