Isle of Wight’s top five healthcare priorities revealed

Earlier this year Healthwatch Isle of Wight called upon Island Residents to help them decide the focus for their next workplan. A survey was launched with a choice of 20 service areas and residents were asked to pick their top five priorities.

Neil the survey winnerThis year the survey received a fantastic 83% increase in responses from last year.

Healthwatch would like to thank all those that took the time to complete the survey and to congratulate Neil (pictured) for scooping the £25 gift voucher prize.

The Top Five
The top five priorities adopted, as decided by the public are as follows:

  • Residential/Nursing Care Homes
  • A and E
  • General Practitioner Services
  • Support for Unpaid Carers
  • Cancer Services

More detail of the scope of these work plans will be released shortly.

Survey on Pharmacy services
In the meantime Healthwatch are currently launching a survey into Pharmacy services on the Isle of Wight on Wednesday 23rd September. If you have received services from a pharmacy since the beginning of 2015 please complete the short survey before the 16th October 2015.

Hard copy surveys are available from the Citizens Advice Bureau located at the Isle Help Advice Hub in Newport High Street. The survey can also be accessed online by visiting our Website
