Friday 2nd October is the date for an inspiring talk by ex-Olympic Skeleton Bob competitor, Andre Usborne and Sports Psychologist Sarah Fenwick.

Andre competed at the 1984 Winter Olympics – the year Torvill and Dean won gold, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards was part of the team and the famous Jamaican Bob team crashed and became the subject of the film ‘Cool Runnings’. He also went on to manage the 1988 team. Andre has also taken part in the legendary field gun competition.

Sharing experiences and motivation
He will talking about his experiences and what motivated and inspired him and will be bringing both a skeleton bob and a luge to display – you will be in awe of the competitors when you see just how vulnerable they are when they launch themselves down the run.

He also has video footage of some of the events he’s taken part in including the famous Cresta Run.

World class sportswoman
Sarah is Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist and Master Executive Coach. She has a strong sport and expedition background, including World class level in paragliding, setting three World Records and medals at World and European Championships.

She has completed at sailing World Championships and national/county/local level in a range of other sports. She has also worked with various Paralympic sportsmen and women.

Sarah has been a team leader and member of several expeditions including sailing to the Antarctic Peninsula, flying a paraglider from the top of a 5000m mountain and driving a land-rover off-road the length of Namibia. In her spare time she enjoys sharing her love of outdoor adventure with her husband Adam Younger.
