More sponsors jump on board the Isle of Wight Speedway train

Just a week before the season begins, more good news from Bryn at Island Speedway. Ed

As the end of the busiest week in the Warriors short history draws to a close, it is with great pleasure that the Warriors welcome Wave 105FM as a media and commercial partner.

Wave 105.2FM is one of the most popular radio stations on the South Coast and fits perfectly with the Warriors media and social media vision for the club.

Jon Brooks, Commercial Director of Wave 105.2FM said,

“We are delighted to be partnering with Warriors Speedway this year and look forward to all the exciting action the new speedway racing season will bring to the Isle of Wight.”

Wightlink Warriors Commercial Director Barry Bishop commented,

“We value our media partners very much and we want our club to be out there reaching the community by every possible medium and Wave 105.2FM adds to our strategy perfectly.

“Jon, Louise and the team at Wave 105.2FM have been in discussion with us here for some time now and it is with great pleasure we can finally announce our media partnership with their organisation. Wave has a massive reach along the South coast and in particular with our mainland fans. We hope that this relationship will enable us to get closer to those fans via competition and media interaction in a new and inspirational way.”

Warrior hitch a taxi Ryde

Ryde Taxis today are extremely pleased to announce that they are the latest Island-based business to back us in 2016 as we bring about the return of the ultra-exciting sport of speedway racing to the Isle of Wight, doing so by becoming a major club sponsor of the Wightlink Warriors.

Ryde Taxis, the Island’s largest Taxi company, provide a wide choice of vehicles and services using a range of vehicles from Hackney Carriage to Chauffeur driven private hire vehicles, using licensed and fully qualified drivers and the latest cab distribution technology.

Owner Jodie Younie said,

“Speedway has the potential to be a massive sport on the Island and we are very pleased to help. It was a huge disappointment when the speedway closed a few years ago and we are pleased that Barry, Martin and their team, whom have worked extremely hard, have managed to bring the club back to life. A lot of our drivers and staff follow the speedway and hopefully more and more people will do so this season.”

Speaking of this latest backing Barry Bishop said,

“It’s a massive boost to the club to welcome Ryde Taxis as a team partner and sponsor of the club. The services they will offer both our own and visiting fans are, I wager, unrivalled in speedway enabling us to reduce the overall cost to visiting fans to support their club as well as Warrior fans who need to cross the Solent.

“This deal is a proud moment for Martin Widman, myself and Team Warrior, a true indication that companies are proud of our club and brand. We would like to thank Jodie, Dan, Martyn and Phil for all their support and help to complete this deal for the club, it’s massive, and thank you – Welcome to the Warriors!”
