Chalkpit Records is proud to announce its first live music event, showcasing the very best new Indie artists from the Isle of Wight and South Coast.

Headlining the bill is the rising Lo-Fi Indie Rock band ‘XOCKHA’. This will be their first headline show since January 2016, when they brought the roof down at The Quay Art Centre.

Support bands
XOCHKA will be supported by two new bands working under the Chalkpit Records label nakamarra and ECSESS. This will be the first exclusive live performance by nakamarra and ECSESS so expect some new exciting vibes.

Debut singles will be exclusively released in physical format for one night only, so don’t miss out.

Chalkpit Records
Chalkpit Records was founded by Silas Gregory, Commercial Music Degree student at Platform One College of Music. Frustrated by the lack of guidance and support for young musicians looking to make it in the cut throat music industry. Chalkpit Record aims to offer band management, Marketing & Promotion, PR, Distribution, Event & Tour Management, Merchandise solutions and much more. Chalkpit Records are currently working on a number of exciting projects, with two bands currently in the studio recording original music with debut singles due for release in May 2016.

Lo-fi indie rock
XOCHKA combine lo-fi indie rock, dream pop, drifting melodies and ambient vibes. Formed on the Isle of Wight they released their debut EP, “Sleeper” in mid 2015.

They’ve gained the attention of Tom Robinson, BBC6 Music, who championed their single “Slow//Fast” and John Kennedy, who played “Need It To Stay” on his X-Posure show on Radio X.

XOCHKA have since played the Bestival Main Stage, Isle of Wight Festival, and a live session on BBC Introducing the South, who have given the band continued support since their first release. 2016 holds great promise for the Island four-piece, with new releases scheduled and a UK tour in the pipeline.

Infectious grooves
Indie electronic five piece, nakamarra, will be serving up infectious grooves, ambient vibes and dreamy vocals.

The band’s eclectic mix of influences ranges from Bonobo esque melodies, mt wolf’s wispy vocals to Foals inspired guitar lines. Nakamarra are fresh, innovative and currently recording their first self produced ep.

Refreshing indie pop
ECSESS create a refreshing indie pop sound with their 80’s synth styles, heavy effected guitar melodies and female led vocals.

The Band Formed back in mid-2015 with a busy summer writing and gigging under their belt, 2016 brings fresh faces and a new agenda. The band are now currently working in the studio on debut releases and up coming Ep.
